Rinža River
The Rinža river is the main watercourse of the Kočevsko polje, which originates below the Stojna mountain near Slovenska vas and has numerous tributaries. It winds slowly through the town of Kočevje and disappears at Mozelj. It comes to the surface again as Bilpa and then flows into the Kolpa River.
Rinža is rich with aquatic vegetation, which offers a safe haven to many fish species. It is popular for fishing - we can find capital carp, grass carp, smelt, chub and pike in it. The area where Rinža springs has the status of a reserve, and there you can also find brown trout and grayling.
Rinža is not suitable for swimming, but due to the beautiful nature that surrounds it, it is ideal for canoeing or SUP-ing.
