Grajski kamp (Castle campsite)

The Castle Campsite is situated next to the Castle Farm, one of the few houses in Kočevje with a stable on the ground floor. This way of living together under the same roof used to be widespread in the area. From April to October, the animals graze in the meadows around the house. The main activity of the farm is beekeeping and fruit-growing. There is also an apiary nearby for tastings, apitherapy and bee-watching. Behind the house are garden terraces with pitches for tents and a barbecue area at the foot of the hill, which offers pleasant shade in the summer.
Guests of the campsite have access to a newly equipped outdoor kitchen, separate bathrooms and toilets, and a laundry room with washing machine and tumble dryer. Free parking for several vehicles is possible in the courtyard. We recommend this campsite to anyone who appreciates peace, simplicity and warmth.
The Castle Farm is situated in a quiet location at the foot of the Stojna Mountain, where the town of Kočevje ends and the vast forests begin. It offers an excellent starting point for visiting the town, whose centre is only a few minutes' walk away, and for exploring the natural beauty of the area, which can be explored via the many well-maintained hiking and cycling trails. Climb up to the ruins of Fridrihštejn Castle or the viewpoint on the Town Peak along the Castle Trail, 100 metres away. If you are a mountain biking enthusiast, the shuttle at the MTB Trail center Kočevje can take you to one of the downhill starting points on regularly maintained trails. In the hot summer months, you can cool off in the lake or the beautiful Kolpa River, a 30-minute drive away.
