The Kočevje Fire Brigade connects 16 local volunteer associations and provides and manages organized fire fighting in the municipality of Kočevje. The beginnings of the fire brigade go back to 1878, when the first organized volunteer fire brigade-PGD Kočevje was founded in Kočevje. Their mission is to provide professional assistance in the field of protection and rescue and to strengthen camaraderie among firefighters.
